About Our Partial Hospitalization Program
Learn About Our Partial Hospitalization Program at Wilmington Treatment Center
For patients who have completed detox and inpatient rehabilitation, the next stage of care is our partial hospitalization program (PHP). At Wilmington, our PHP is designed to be the first step towards sober, independent living.
As the first step towards independent living, the PHP program at Wilmington Treatment Center is designed for those who no longer require 24-hour medical management or supervision. PHP includes many of the same interventions as inpatient rehab, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Seeking Safety, and Gorski’s Relapse Prevention.
Therapies Used
Therapies Utilized in Wilmington’s PHP in North Carolina
Within our partial hospitalization program, interventions may be used in the following contexts:
Individual therapy provides an opportunity for patients to continue to meet one-on-one with their primary counselor to receive support and explore issues that may be preventing them from living sober lives. During PHP, the frequency of individual therapy sessions is determined collaboratively by each patient and counselor.
Family therapy allows family members to come together and have a chance to enhance their ability to support each other. Family therapy sessions are led by our family therapist and are available as needed. In addition, families are welcome to take advantage of our weekly family education and monthly intensive family programming events.
Group therapy is in many ways the heart of treatment at Wilmington. Morning and afternoon group therapy sessions are led by members of our highly-skilled clinical team. Process groups and psychoeducational groups are offered daily as well.
