The Wilmington Treatment Center admires the courage required to take the first step in the journey to overcoming chemical dependency. Recovery is more than just stopping an addictive behavior; it is creating a new lifestyle filled with fresh insights and extraordinary opportunities. Through treatment, one can experience the powerful strength of support and learn the coping skills and strategies to stay clean and sober for a lifetime.
Our individualized treatment program incorporates medical and mental health services with a focus on personal growth in recovery and includes the 12-step philosophy and principles, relapse prevention, and other therapies. Successful recovery encompasses several changes including improvement in self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, family interaction, vocational productivity, the establishment and attainment of realistic life goals, and a healthy lifestyle.
Wilmington Treatment Center offers different levels of care designed to maximize the strengths of each person. Our programs give clear recognition to the disease concept and focus on the individual as a person with dignity and self-worth. The following six problem areas are addressed in making placement decisions and the subsequent formation of an individual’s treatment plan:
- Acute intoxication and/or withdrawal potential
- Biomedical conditions and complications
- Emotional/behavioral conditions and complications
- Treatment acceptance/resistance
- Relapse potential
- Recovery environment
Recreation therapy includes sober living education. Clients have the opportunity to visit local sober living houses before discharge. Some of our groups are gender specific and the average length of stay is 28 days.
Levels of Care
At Wilmington Treatment Center, we believe that 28 days in a structured treatment environment gives our patients the best opportunity to develop a drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle.
We utilize three levels of care to provide this structured addiction treatment:
Detox/Stabilization
Detox and stabilization are provided for individuals needing 24-hour medical care. We utilize methadone and Suboxone to treat opiate addiction, and Librium for alcohol addiction, as well as other medications to make the detox process as comfortable as possible. All patients must be ambulatory (i.e., able to walk about) and we do not provide I.V.s.
Inpatient/Drug Rehab
We provide comprehensive inpatient drug rehab for individuals needing a supportive, structured environment 24 hours a day. Housed in our main facility, patients receiving this level of addiction treatment receive medical and nursing services, including detoxification.
Partial/Day Treatment
In partial/day treatment, patients are involved in the same therapeutic program as individuals in our inpatient program, and also receive medical care and meals. This level of care includes safe and secure offsite housing (at no additional cost to the patient).
Wilmington Treatment Center is committed to providing a safe, sober living environment in all levels of care.
