Admissions

Taking the First Step

For many people, taking the essential first step of seeking treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders is often the most difficult. As a result, we, at Wilmington Treatment Center, have designed our admissions process to be as smooth and painless as possible.

As a primary substance abuse treatment center, we treat people who are struggling with virtually all forms of substance abuse and addiction. If a person is interested in our services, the admissions process begins with a phone call and a brief, confidential conversation with one of the compassionate and knowledgeable members of our admissions team. Our skilled admissions team is available to discuss treatment and schedule admissions 24 hours per day, seven days per week, even on holidays.

Patients, family members, loved ones, and/or referral sources will be asked a series of questions so we can get to know the potential patient. These questions are designed to help us get a picture of what is happening with the potential patient so we can determine the best course of treatment and assess whether we would be a good fit. These questions include a history of alcohol or drug use, medical background, treatment history, and insurance information.

Our Admissions Process

Soon after this initial call, we process insurance information and contact the potential patient to discuss financial issues. Once this step is complete, we can schedule a date for admission. Because of our streamlined process, we can often schedule an admission date the same day as the initial call.

Our Admissions Criteria

Wilmington Treatment Center is open to men and women ages 18 and older who have a primary substance use disorder diagnosis. We also accept men and women with both a primary substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. We are unable to provide care for individuals who are homicidal or those who have a history of sex offenses. All of our rooms are handicapped accessible.

If you or your loved one is struggling with a substance use disorder, do not hesitate to give us a call. Today could be first day of your journey toward the substance-free life that you deserve.
